RHA Futures Series 3, Episode 3, 2020
This exhibition was the final in the third series of Futures, a sequence of exhibitions that endeavoured to document and contextualise the work of early career artists and emergent practices, around who exists a growing critical and curatorial consensus. An important part of the selection and research for this exhibition is the studio visit. As a staff, we estimate that we do a minimum of 100 studio visits a year, to artists at all stages of their careers, with varied practices and outcomes. These visits are so important on a number of levels; they allow for research primarily, to interrogate and question, to learn, to communicate and reach out in a meaningful way to the broad and open community of artists on the island.
